Once again BillerudKorsnäs has received a top mark for sustainability. This time it was EcoVadis that gave BillerudKorsnäs a “Gold” rating.
In order to comply with the wishes of large, important customers, BillerudKorsnäs has reported sustainability performance to the international evaluation system EcoVadis. In turn, EcoVadis has given BillerudKorsnäs a “Gold” score, ranking it among the top 10% companies in all categories. To receive such a ranking, BillerudKorsnäs had to answer many very detailed questions about the environment, working conditions, business liability and suppliers.
In terms of working conditions, EcoVadis placed BillerudKorsnäs at the very top of the industry. BillerudKorsnäs also earned high scores in the areas of business liability and procurement from suppliers. The latter is particularly satisfying as Purchasing recently introduced a new system for supplier evaluation, a factor that EcoVadis viewed very positively. Statistics for number of supplier evaluations, amount of time in training per employee and sick leave due to work accidents were cited as areas with potential for further improvement.
EcoVadis supports approximately 100 multinational companies in its evaluation of suppliers in some 90 countries and is not an analyst for investors.
